The other group the "Arachnids" come in all shapes and sizes, here are just a few of the more interesting, or just plain scary.
Here we have the deadly and infamous "Funnel-Web" spider. He lives underground in a funnel shaped web in a hole, he has long fangs and delivers a very nasty, painful and sometimes fatal bite. They are very aggressive and will bring the fight to you, so take care.
This hairy critter is often called a 'Tarantula' but in fact it is a 'Huntsman' and can grow to the size of a side plate. Despite their size and scary looks, they are harmless to humans and in fact do a lot of good. We have lived in houses where they come out at night and roam the ceilings eating the fly's and mosquitoes, which is a plus.
Finally, here is a very resourceful little fellow, the 'Dilopis' or 'Netcaster' spider weaves his net like a fishing net and fixes it above the ground. The prey does not fly or fall into it, but in fact are caught as they cross under the net.
