The Dingo pictured on the tree stump is a very wily character indeed, possessing a very high level of intelligence. They have been bred in captivity quite successfully but there is always the wild instincts left in the dingo. One certain dingo and a trapper carried on a battle of wits for almost 14 years. Each tracked the other at times, and when finally the trapper got into a position to shoot the dingo, the dingo stood his ground and stared at the trapper. Unable to shoot the dingo face on he let it go. Until the trapper retired, they were respected friends from a distance.
